GILDED MONGRELS IS THE NEW IPODFUCKER

Hello Friends. IPODFUCKER has moved to GILDED MONGRELS. What I hope to get out of this and give to you is better and more frequent content. Because of my laziness I struggled with timely content. I hope to break free from this vicious cycle and talk about what ever I want when I want. Like how fucking ill the 2 year old remaster/remake of RETURN THE GIFT By Gang Of Four is...

ANIMAL COLLECTIVE - Merriweather Post Pavilion, That's it! I quit!

This is not for me. I fell for the hype last year when everyone was creaming they’re jeans for STRAWBERRY JAM. I didn’t like that record. Then I fell for WATER CURSES and I didn’t like that record either. I’m not sure why I keep falling for it. I mean everybody fucking loves this band. I want to be cool and like Animal Collective. But I have to give up the dream. Although I definitely appreciate what a technical masterpiece and marvel of production this album is, it makes me feel like I’m trapped in a tweener-circus-rave with a jam-band. This record is not easy to listen to, you're not gonna put this on and clean the house. However, I bet with some careful editing some of these could become hits on the college airwaves.

08 BEST, WORST, COULDABEENS, AND HOLDOVERS

I could do a lot of pontificating and justifying and the this is why and that is because, but I’m not…leave a comment or send an email and I may or may not address your concerns…

For the purists, I used the US street date for my basis. I happy to quibble. Please start music player located at bottom of post, now... I totally chintzed out and didn't build individual players for each section but I did include some stuff I didn't like (see how fair I am). MYSPLICE III - From team9 and Stereogum

As a hold over please visit STEREOGUM for 2008's MYSPLICE from team9. As you may surmise it's 2008 in mash-ups. It's fun you'll like it. team9's first orginal full lengthe is also available from their/his site. also check some of the other remixes, which are dope One of my faves is this one: Britney/Daft Punk/Dead or Alive/Justice.

Please believe that I am trying to get back into the swing of it, but the holidays and my laziness and blah blah blah, I'll try to do a year end round up with 'MY' top 10 or so of 2008 as well as hits and misses from round the tubes.

GRACE JONES, Hurricane - I don't like it...or maybe I do...

I'm very confused by this record and I'll tell you why, I don't like it, but I keep listening to it. It is a fascinating album. Much like grace herself, who I think is a consistently fascinating character. So maybe I do like the record. I mean, it is growing on me. It's definitely not a Yoko Ono dance record. It's really pretty mellow. It does have some pretty interesting producers that might make you think that it is, but it's not. It's pretty mellow. But has a lot of tension. It's got some ok ragga, dubby stuff, that I don't like, or maybe I do. Where is Rob Brezny when you need him...
